Idaniko, a word game between the Greek word “idaniko” that means “Ideal” and “Niko” that means “I win”, because the “ideal world” is built through small victories. An idealized reception and treatment of refugees. An inverted present reality. A “bell” for the collective memory. A journey in time. The “here and now” is turned into “there and then.” “Greece-2016” into “Syria-1923”. An opportunity to truly meet with Syrian culture, examine how the Greek ways have been modified, influenced by another tradition, their music, dance and food. As part of this project, the social cuisine as “the other hand” will accompany the event with traditional Syrian food.
